Spring Lock Washer is the most commonly used part to stop assembly components from loosening. It applies greater bolt tension per unit of applied torque, and offers protection against loosening resulting from corrosion and vibration. Lock Washer is usually utilized in an application which involves vibration and possible slippage of fasteners. It is commonly used in industries of automotive, aircraft, marine. It can also be used in household appliances such as air handlers and clothes washers. Instead of friction Nord Lock Washer secures bolts with tension. As it creates a wedge-effect underneath the bolt head or nut so the system cannot loosen accidently. The system contains of radial teeth on the opposite side and a pair of wedge-lock washers with cams on the opposite side. The key is the dissimilarity in angles.

Starlock Washer have serrated edges around the metal disc to allow hold it in place by biting into the surface. It is designed for fastenings with a larger head to withdraw the force of the washer being compressed as well as holding the surface.
Split Lock Washer use friction to stop bolted joints from loosening. It features a ring that has been split and twisted it creates two sharp edges. It is installed between the bolt head/nut and mating surface, in the similar way as an unsecured bolt the bolted joint is tightened. Tooth Lock Washer is designed to prevent bolted joints from loosening using friction. In the similar way as an unsecured bolt the bolted joint is tightened and install between the bolt head/nut and the mating surface. And the teeth bite into the mating surface when the bolted joint is tightened.
