Acorn Nuts have a dome shape on one end of the fastener. They are also referred to as crown hex nut or dome nuts. Stainless Steel Acorn Nuts are a low carbon based alloy with good corrosion resistance and high tensile strength. Stainless Steel Acorn Lug Nuts when used in combination with a threaded fastener and an external male thread, the dome end of the Stainless Steel High Crown Acorn Nuts encloses the external thread, to either protect the thread or to protect nearby objects from coming contact with the thread.
In addition to offering protection to the threads, the dome on the Stainless Steel Acorn Cap Nuts gives the fastener a more finished and neater appearance. Polished 316 Stainless Steel Acorn Nuts can also be plated with chrome or be given a mirror finish.

Securing sharp threads – Many of the threaded rods have sharp threads that can cause cuts if not sealed properly. Apart from the sharpness of the thread, the uncovered protruding head of the thread can cause serious damage during accidents.
