AIM 70/88 is a low melting alloy with a melting point of 70–88°C. It's made up of bismuth, cadmium, lead, and tin. AIM 70/88 is used for many of the same applications as AIM 70, but where less growth is required. The different sizes of atoms in an alloy make their arrangement less regular than a pure metal. This makes the bonds between the atoms weaker and lower melting point.
