Belmont Product Code 2451 is a bismuth-based eutectic alloy with a low melting point. It's used in applications where the lowest possible melting point is necessary. For example, it's often used in the optical industry when manufacturing and grinding plastic or glass lenses and other optical components. It can also be used for work-holding where particularly low temperatures are required. Other uses include fusible safety devices and proof casting. Belmont Product Code 2451 melts at 117 F.
