Indalloy 1 is an indium-tin solder alloy. Indium is a versatile metal that's used for soldering to gold, thermal applications, low-temperature solders, bonding to ceramics, hermetic and cryogenic sealing, and CTE mismatch. Indalloy 1 has the following properties: *Wettabilty: Fair wettability on glass, quartz, and many ceramics *Malleability: Good low temperature malleability *Vapor pressure: Low vapor pressure *Flux residue removal: Warm water sonication may be used to remove flux residue *Solder alloy compatibility: Indalloy® Flux #1 works well with all common soft solders Indium alloy is also used in dentistry and gemstones. Its composition is usually: Gold 5 to 65% *Palladium 2 to 30% *Silver 10 to 15% *Copper 10 to 15% *Indium 0.5 to 5%
