Description
Indalloy 117 is a bismuth-based, eutectic alloy that melts at 116°F (47°C). It's a fusible alloy that contains bismuth, indium, lead, tin, and gallium. It's manufactured by the Indium Corporation of America. Indalloy 117 is used for tooling and production aids. It is easily castable and ready for use as soon as it freezes. The alloy can be recovered and recycled into new uses a number of times. Indalloy 117 has other trade names, including: *Cerrolow 117 *General purpose fusible alloy Indalloy 117 is used in many facilities to prevent the accidental use of a higher temperature alloy on plastic lenses. It's also known by the trade names Cerrolow 117. Fusible alloys can be used as coolants because they are stable under heating and can give much higher thermal conductivity than most other coolants.
