Description
MCP 79 is a low melting point alloy. It's a bismuth-based non-eutectic alloy. It's used in applications where there are health and safety or environmental concerns. Some of its primary applications are: *Tube and section bending *Work-holding *Fusible core applications *Fusible safety devices MCP 79 melts between 47° C to 300° C. Low melting alloys, also called fusible alloys, have a composition that allows the metal to form into a liquid or semi-liquid state at low temperatures and then re-solidify. Some other applications of low melting alloys include: *Making punch dies *Making plates, chuck jaws, and other holding devices for machine shops and manufacturing operations *Low melting plugs for automatic fire sprinkler systems
