OSTALLOY 281 is a bismuth-based eutectic alloy with a melting temperature of 281°F (138°C). It has the highest melting point of all bismuth-based alloys. OSTALLOY 281 is also known as: *AsarcoLo 281 Roto281F/138C *Roto281-338F/138C-170C *Low Melting Alloy *Sn60Bi40 *Alloy #281-338 *MCP 137 *Metspec 281 *MCP 150 *CAS 12713-30-3 Bismuth-based alloys are often used to bend tubes and rolled or extruded shapes. They can also be used in jewelry and art applications. In production settings, bismuth-tin alloys are used to hold other metals while they are being machined. Bismuth can be alloyed with a number of elements, including: Antimony, Cadmium, Copper, Indium, Lead, Tin.
