Description
UNS C17200 is a beryllium copper alloy that is ductile and has a tensile strength of over 1380 MPa (200 ksi). It is also known as Alloy 25 and is the most commonly used beryllium copper alloy. UNS C17200 has the following properties: High strength and hardness, similar to steel Excellent bearing properties Extremely high compressive strengths Significant non-corrosive properties Great galling resistance Good to excellent corrosion resistance UNS C17200 is used for applications that require high strength, stiffness, and good conductivity. It can be precipitation hardened or age hardened to achieve high strength. The nominal composition of UNS C17200 is: 97.2% Cu, 2.05% Be, 0.5% Co, 0.25% Si. The melting point of UNS C17200 is 865 - 980 °C (1590 - 1800 °F).
