Cobalt Beryllium Copper UNS C17500 is a copper-cobalt-beryllium alloy that has moderate strength and about 50% IACS conductivity. It has excellent corrosion resistance and is best for electrical and electronic applications. C17500 alloys are available in mill hardened tempers and heat treatable and ductile tempers. They have a cobalt alloying addition of 2.40-2.70%. C17500 is primarily used in industry applications that require highly thermal or electrical conductivity. It offers a mix of high electrical and warm conductivity with incredible strength. C17500 is the mirror image of alloy C17510 in terms of its properties and characteristics. The only difference is that C175 specifies a cobalt alloying addition (2.40-2.70%) and alloy 17510 specifies a nickel alloying addition (1.40-2.20%). C17500 is not banned, restricted, or otherwise limited by any country worldwide. However, inclusions of copper-beryllium in the skin can cause beryllium sensitization.
