Description

Cobalt Beryllium Copper UNS C17500 Wire is a copper-cobalt-beryllium alloy with moderate strength and about 50% IACS conductivity. It's primarily used in industries that require high thermal or electrical conductivity. Here are some properties of Cobalt Beryllium Copper UNS C17500 Wire: *Excellent corrosion resistance *Best for electrical and electronic applications *Available in mill hardened tempers and heat treatable and ductile tempers *Has a cobalt alloying addition of 2.40-2.70% UNS C17500 wire is a beryllium copper alloy wire with the following properties: *Good to excellent corrosion resistance *Medium to high thermal and electrical conductivity *Thickness of 0.08mm-6mm *Bright surface *Good strength and hardness *Applications include corrosion resistant components, springs, switches, and connectors UNS C17500 wire is typically provided in an annealed or cold drawn temper and heat treated after forming. Properties may vary by diameter. UNS C17500 alloy is similar to alloy C17510 in terms of its properties and characteristics. The main difference is that C175 specifies a cobalt alloying addition (2.40-2.70%) and alloy 17510 specifies a nickel alloying addition (1.40-2.20%). Beryllium is a grey metal that's stronger than steel and lighter than aluminum. It has good electrical insulation and excellent heat conductivity. However, inclusions of copper-beryllium in the skin can cause beryllium sensitization. If skin reactions occur, consult a doctor.
