Description

Nickel Beryllium Copper UNS C17510 is a low beryllium alloy with good strength and hardness characteristics. It has a conductivity of 45-60 percent of copper and has ultimate tensile and hardness properties approaching 140 ksi and RB 100 respectively. UNS C17510 is a nickel beryllium copper alloy. It's also known as CuNi2Be—C17510 (CDA 1751). C17510 is a Class III beryllium copper that's heat treatable and has a high tensile strength. It's used in applications that require high thermal or electrical conductivity. Here are some physical properties of C17510: *Density (g/cm3): 8.83 *Density before age hardening (g/cm3): 8.75 *Strength: Good strength and hardness characteristics *Conductivity: 45-60 percent of copper *Elastic Modulus (kg/mm2 (103)): 14.10 *Tensile strength: Ultimate tensile properties approaching 140 ksi *Hardness: RB 100 *Thermal conductivity: Better than C17200 *Thermal Expansion Coefficient (20 °C to 200 °C m/m/°C): 18 x 10-6 *Thermal Conductivity (cal/(cm-s-°C)): 0.57 *Melting Range (°C): 1000-1070 C17510 is recommended for: *Highly stressed welder structural current carrying members *Heavy duty offset electrode holders *Spot welding and seam welding steels, such as stainless steel C17510 can be provided in a (HM) “Mill Hardened” temper.
