Copper-cobalt-beryllium alloy UNS C17540 is available in plate, sheet, strip, and roller bar. It contains 0.40–0.70% beryllium and 0.80–1.3% cobalt. UNS C17540 is a high-strength copper-nickel-beryllium alloy with good electrical and thermal conductivity. It has excellent corrosion and wear resistance. However, like many industrial materials, copper beryllium may present a health risk if handled improperly. The inhalation of dusts, fumes, or mists containing beryllium can cause a serious lung condition in some individuals.
